Getting Started

Set up your shop

Follow these steps to get your shop running on Amaah.

Download the app

Download Amaah on your Android phone. Contact us at hello@amaahapp.com to get the download link.

Log in with your phone number

Select Owner / Employee, enter your Somali phone number (without +252), and enter the verification code you receive on WhatsApp.

Name your shop

Enter your shop name. This will be visible to your customers and employees.

Add your customers

Tap Add new customer, enter their name and phone number. You can add up to 20 customers for free.

Daily Use

Recording purchases

Tap "Record purchase"

Press the green Record purchase button on your dashboard.

Select the customer

Search for the customer by name or phone number and tap their name.

Enter items and price

Write what the customer bought (e.g. Rice 2kg, Sugar) and the total price in USD. Decimals are supported (e.g. 2.50).

Tap Save

The purchase is recorded instantly. The customer's balance updates automatically.

💡 Tip: The customer will receive a notification on their phone when a purchase is recorded.

Marking a customer as paid

Tap on the customer

From your dashboard, tap on the customer who has paid their balance.

Tap "Mark paid"

The green Mark paid button appears at the top. Tap it.

Confirm payment

Review the amount and tap Confirm payment. The balance resets to zero and moves to payment history.

Team

Adding employees

Go to Employees tab

Scroll right on your dashboard to find the Employees section.

Add employee

Enter their name and Somali phone number. They can now log in with that number and record purchases.

⚠️ Note: Employees can record and edit purchases, but cannot delete customers, mark payments, or reset the month.
Getting Started

Logging in as an employee

Ask your manager to add you

Your shop owner must add your phone number as an employee before you can log in.

Log in with your phone number

Open Amaah, select Owner / Employee, enter your number (without +252) and the WhatsApp code.

You're in!

You will see the shop dashboard. Your name will appear on every purchase you record.

Use the green Record purchase button to add customer purchases.

Tap ✏️ to correct a purchase you recorded.

Cannot mark payments or delete

Only the shop owner can mark customers as paid, delete customers, or reset the month.

Getting Started

Viewing your balance

Ask your shopkeeper to add you

Tell your shopkeeper your phone number so they can register you as a customer in Amaah.

Download the app and log in

Open Amaah, select Customer, enter your Somali phone number (without +252) and the WhatsApp verification code.

See your balance

Your current balance is shown in red if you owe money, or green if you have paid. Tap History to see past payments.

💡 Tip: If you shop at multiple stores using Amaah, you can switch between them after logging in.
